About Baumgartner Attorneys PC

Our law firm was founded when Howard E. Baumgartner opened an office in the First Bank of Berne building on Jefferson Street on December 1, 1950.  Howard practiced law until 1995.  James E. Beitler, Jr. joined the firm in 1974 and practiced until 2013.  David N. Baumgartner joined the firm in 1985, and Nicholas J. Baumgartner did likewise in 2017.  The office was moved to its present location on Main Street in November of 2013.

All matters handled by Baumgartner Attorneys PC are treated with strict confidentiality and with the high standards of the legal profession’s code of ethics.  No information about your affairs will be released to unauthorized persons.

Open communication is a vital factor in any good relationship between a client and an attorney.  A goal of Baumgartner Attorneys PC is to communicate with clients in a manner that leaves them well informed and comfortable.  Clients should feel free to discuss their needs and objectives.  Clients should also feel free to discuss fees and how their legal work is to be handled. Discussion of these matters is essential in developing an environment of mutual trust and understanding.

Service and Leadership:

Baumgartner Attorneys PC is also committed to serve the Berne and surrounding communities and to provide leadership in improving these communities.  We have assisted in forming many not-for-profit organizations, usually at little or no cost, and have consistently supported such organizations financially and by serving on their committees and boards.
